Judy Smith

Judy is a rostered Minister of Word and Service (Deacon) in the ELCA and has served
churches in Virginia and Calumet Lutheran Ministries, a year-round camp and
conference center in New Hampshire. Judy’s first career was as an elementary teacher
with 1 st and 4 th graders in Stafford, VA. Since retirement in 2022, Judy has expanded
her interest in labyrinths by completing facilitator training though Veriditas and enjoys
introducing the labyrinth to others. Judy graduated from Bates College with a BA in
music and graduated from Union Presbyterian Seminary with a MA in Christian
Education. Judy is still very active with Lutheran Outdoor Ministries, serves on several
ecumenical outdoor ministry committees, and is pursuing a Spirituality Certificate
through Columbia Theological Seminary. Born in Maine, Judy and her husband are
happy to return to the Pine Tree State and currently reside in York Beach. Best of all,
they enjoy being grandparents to a new baby girl born in the fall of 2023!
