Pray and Paddle with Thoreau

Pray and Paddle is a wonderful event for both novice and experienced paddlers. A paddling and safety orientation begins each session. Rentals available. Each event is approximately 2-3 hours and take place from 9 a.m. – Noon from Rolling Ridge (unless otherwise noted)

On Lake Cochichewick we share in Lectio Divina, an ancient practice of listening to a piece of sacred wisdom, three times. Each reading includes a question to ponder followed by an extended time of paddling in silence. On this paddle we will be accompanied by the wisdom of Henry David Thoreau (1817-1826) Transcendental mystic, social justice prophet and author of Walden pivotal in launching todays environmental movement.
